Final Idea

Final Idea

Our final idea is quite complex, however a lot of our audience feedback from the questionnaire helped us decide on our idea. Firstly within our film, there is only going to be one character, which is a young boy. However, he is shown at two different stages within his childhood in our film, age 10 and age 16. To be able to show the age gap we will use faced pace and snappy editing. In our film, the boys parents die in a car crash when he is around the age of 6, and after this the boy becomes mentally traumatized, and in a routine like manor he retraces several important places within his childhood everyday, and we show this with both ages. We try to compare each of the boys ages by putting them in the same places at different times of the extract. As the boy has been through care since the age of 6 has has various anger problems, and we are going try and portray how it has got worse by the clothes that each of the boys wear. As the younger boy will be wearing quite smart yet casual clothes, however the older boy will be wearing quite scruffy tracksuit bottoms and a large hoodie. To keep the audience gripped to our thriller extract, we have chosen not to show the face of the boy until the end of the extract, as this will keep the audience guessing about the age, and state that the boy looks. We will try to get permission from the exam board to allow us to use a few seconds of footage for a car crash towards the end of our extract, as it is not feasible to film this, however it would be a good thriller contribution towards our extract.
